1.
Unaccountable authority To repress the minority. Protectors of sanctity. Glory in the intoxication, Faithful sons of a great nation Wield tools of subjugation. Collective punishment. You know what colors belong here And the methods to inspire fear. Terrorize the heart of a people. Make sure they know who’s the most equal. Secure the walls of the police state. The best weapons are apathy and hate. The struggle to survive Under constant watch from a killer’s eyes. What’s the value of a human life? Subsisting on the edge of a knife. Itchy trigger fingers. Blood dries. Horror lingers. This rotten system Claims its victims. Twisting minds To genocide. Till the structure falls With the prison walls, Shredding the blue line. Streets incarnadine.
2.
A melancholic fog Settles over your sight, Draining color away From this life. Strange death of poets. Strange death of kings. Striving toward negative capability. Strange death of poets. Struck at your lowest. Early demise strips away all you might have been. Strange death of kings. Moot longing for meaning. Try to justify God’s ways to man. Words fail you in your task. A ghost at rest in the Tower of Song. His sigh reverberates through eternity, Awaiting a wall of commiseration. The unacknowledged legislators of this world Are overwhelmed and cut down in their prime. Monarchs and saints alike join us in the soil. No almighty Lord had a hand in creating this cesspool, But some men should be held accountable. Hoarding riches and destroying lives With the arrogant glee of sadistic children. This elaborate edifice made of cards, built on lies. When it crashes down from beneath us, Who will be dragged into the abyss?

about

"For those who worship at the altar of nonstop metallic hardcore and the aforementioned D-beat, Collective Punishment is a shot of pure adrenaline." - Decibel Magazine

"Since forming in 2014, NEQUIENT have been cooking up a tasty stew of death metal, grindcore, sludge, and whatever the fuck you called what Assück played. You have to have the musical chops to pull this off convincibly, and luckily for us, the Chicago-based outfit has them in spades." - No Echo

"Twisting grind, crust, death metal, and hardcore into a lethal, bespoke implement, NEQUIENT's versatile, ever-angry assault makes them a staple of Chicago's local live scene and a great choice for anyone needing an excuse to punch a hole in drywall." - Invisible Oranges
